A former leading fashion model who was 5'10'' tall. Carey was a favorite with top American designers, including Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father is a distinguished scientist who was named Scientist of the Year in 1979 at the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. As a result of his career Carey has been raised across the globe. She started modeling part time during her time studying at college at University of Colorado and caught the eye of a rep of the Ford model Agency in New York. She briefly spent time and studied in Paris prior to returning in New York. Her modeling and college career took off and she was featured on the covers of Glamour's and Vogue's as well as many other covers of magazines. In between modeling assignments, she studied literary studies full-time in New York University. In time, she began to become interested in acting, and began studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. She had a small part in Club Paradise with Robin Williams in 1986. Her leisure time is spent in wind surfing, skiing, rock climbing and white water rafting.
